What We Use

Full Grain, Vegetable-Tanned Leather. This is the highest quality leather available—durable, breathable, and develops a gorgeous patina over time. We select our hides with care, ensuring each piece is strong enough for heavy play and beautiful enough for any display.

What We Avoid

We do not use genuine leather, bonded leather, or anything labeled as “top grain” with a stamped-on texture. These materials are often chemically processed, structurally weak, and falsely marketed. Our tools are made to last—we don’t cut corners, and we don’t compromise.

Leather Grades, Simply Explained

  • Full Grain: The strongest and most natural cut. Includes the full surface of the hide. Ages beautifully.
  • Top Grain: Sanded down and altered. Less durable. Often embossed with fake grain patterns.
  • Genuine Leather: Sounds nice, but it’s misleading. This is leftover hide with little strength or quality.
  • Bonded Leather: Leather dust glued together with polyurethane. Avoid entirely.

Why It Matters

Your gear should last years—not weeks. Using full grain leather ensures our cuffs, collars, paddles, and accessories maintain their strength, look, and feel with every use. It’s not just about luxury. It’s about value, safety, and trust.

Leather Care Tips

Our leather will last decades if cared for properly. Keep it dry when possible. Wipe clean with a damp cloth, and condition sparingly with leather balm when needed. Store flat, or buckled at your specific size. Do not hard fold your pieces, especially if wet.
